Ways to Volunteer
4th Saturday Volunteers

Park Greeters
Park Greeters help orient visitors and help visitors develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and the plethora of plants and animals who call this place home. View Park Greeter Opportunities
Small Group Volunteers
Our group volunteer programs are a great team-building experience for corporate groups, community organizations, youth groups, and schools. View Small Group Volunteer Opportunities
Bird Walk Guides
Consider volunteering one weekend day a month with the National Park Service by giving a bird tour at the park! This park is one of the best places to view woodland and wetland birds, and we would love to introduce this amazing aspect of the park to more folks. View Bird Guide Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer in Our Community, All Throughout the Anacostia Watershed
In a collaboration with twelve local environmental organizations, the Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens supported the launch of the Anacostia River Outdoor Volunteer Adventure Trail in Fall 2025. This powerful collaboration is designed to strengthen and diversify outdoor volunteerism in the Anacostia Watershed. For more information about the project, visit the landing page here.
