Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is proud to offer our neighbors and the community at large the experience of outdoor wellness at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens – right in your backyard – with WELLderness: An Outdoor Wellness Series. Try for the first time or continue your practice at yoga, tai chi, forest bathing, painting, and enjoy live music May through October. Additional activities and events include West African and steel band drumming, bird watching, photography and dog pack walks.

The Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in collaboration with Raindancer Healing Arts would like to provide a FREE Guided Forest Bathing walk through the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Ward 7.

Forest bathing , also known as shinrin-yoku, in Japanese, means “bathing in the essence of the forest” and is scientifically proven therapeutic modality to aid in one’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

WELLderness returns for a second year and Audrey has joined us to bring her yoga expertise to the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens.

Follow along with Audrey Roxas as she teaches participants yoga with a focus on strength and stability in a small group setting. Practice yoga while enjoying the sights and sounds of the Gardens during a summer morning at the park.

Participants should bring a water bottle, yoga mat, snack, bug spray, sun protection, and/or anything else one may carry when spending time outdoors.

Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in collaboration with ArtReach and George Washington University are bringing FREE fine arts education, therapeutic art, and mixed media art workshops to DC residents East of the River (Wards 7 & 8).

Explore the park with your family on a scavenger hunt! In this workshop, you’ll learn photography techniques all while exploring plants and wildlife at the park. Bring your phone!

Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is back with more FREE yoga for our park neighbor and visitors to engage in. Register today to join Adrienne for morning yoga at the Gardens.

Engage in an hour-long, slow-paced yoga class as instructor Adrienne Shaw teaches participants about breathing and movement. Practice yoga in a group setting while enjoying the sights and sounds of the Gardens on a summer morning.

Participants should bring a water bottle, yoga mat, snack, bug spray, sun protection (sunscreen/block, hat, sunglasses), and/or anything else one may carry when spending time outdoors.

The Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens are inviting all park guests and visitors for a free, interactive drum circle as a part of “WELLderness: An Outdoor Wellness Series” at the park.

A free, interactive performance by the Bele Bele Rhythm Collective- “Sisterhood of the Drum”. We encourage you to bring a drum or other instrument to participate in the music-making experience (no experience necessary). Grab a seat and enjoy!

The Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens invite all park guests and visitors to listen to the East of the River Boys & Girls Steel Band as they perform at the park.

Listen to the sounds of the steel pan as members of the East of the River Boys & Girls Steel Band perform musical selections for all ages. They are a music training, performing and touring program for youth 12 to 18 years of age living east of DC’s Anacostia River. Grab a seat and enjoy!

This performance is during one of the park’s extended hours Saturdays happening in July!

The Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in collaboration with Coach Fogan would like to offer you the opportunity to participate in a FREE Tai Chi class at the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Ward 7.

Tai Chi is a meditative martial art which provides health benefits and can assist in overcoming medical challenges. Register for this class to learn in a small group setting on a summer morning. This class will be led by Darrell Fogan.

Participants should bring a water bottle, snack, bug spray, sun protection (sunscreen/block, hat, sunglasses), and/or anything else one may carry when spending time outdoors.
