Directions & Hours
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is located at 1550 Anacostia Ave NE, Washington, DC.
The park is accessible by car with a small parking lot, by Metro (Deanwood or Minnesota Avenue stops on the Orange Line), by bike (via the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail), and can be explored at high tide by kayak or canoe. For more information on biking, walking, and water access, check out this map.
The park grounds open at 8a.m. year round for birdwatching, photography, and morning strolls. Visitor services including the visitor center, restrooms, and park rangers are available:
SUMMER Operating hours (June 3rd-September 6th):
8am-4p Monday-Tuesday, with the Visitor Center open 9am-3p.
8am-8p Wednesday-Sunday, with the Visitor Center open 9am-7p.
Regular Operating hours (resume September 7th):
8am-4p Monday-Sunday, with the Visitor Center open 9am-3p.
The park is closed ONLY on: New Year’s Day (January 1), Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (December 25).
